Emma Morris

Emma Morris is a storyteller who works within contemporary dance and film to craft surreal encounters inspired by abstracting her personal history. She is a graduate of the contemporary dance program at Concordia University in Montréal, Canada and has studied with La Fabrique de la Danse in Paris, France. She works to question how movement can express memory and expose the underbelly of the human experience. Her work is imaginative and honest. Emma's work has been commissioned by the Festival of Recorded Movement, (Vancouver Canada), presented at the Festival International du Film Ethnographique du Québec, (Montreal Canada), and InShadow Film Festival, (Lisbon Portugal). Her work has also been awarded as a finalist in the Stockholm City Film Festival, (Stockholm Sweden), and most recently received a nomination for Best Experimental Short Film at Silver Wave Film Festival, (Saint John Canada). She now works in Toronto, Canada where she continues to develop her choreographic voice blending dance and filmmaking while sharing her work locally and internationally.
